Matson is moving ahead with plans for developing approximately 30-acres of Polaris Point property leased from GEDCA. The current project phase involves surveys, preliminary studies and consulting services. The intent is to try and use the existing paved area for initial operations at the site.

Create a phased bid package for the access road and to complete the leachate sewerline design form the landfill facility to Route 4 and then South on Route 4 to the Inarajan Wastewater Treatment Plant. Complete the design and create a separate bid package for the Cell 1 and 2 mass earthwork and repairs and improvements to the temporary access road to the site.

Provide infrastructure and wharf improvements, and some utilities to allow “cold iron” berthing for “extended” transient ships, primarily, the Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG) and its combatant escort ships.

Provide a new west extension to the existing Kilo Wharf and miscellaneous demolition within the harbor; provide reinforced concrete crane girders, cable trenches and supports, and new asphalt concrete pavement and a reinforced concrete deck for the existing Kilo Wharf and new wharf extension.

Extend the shore utilities infrastructure from the existing wharf to the new Kilo Wharf extension and upgrade lighting, telecommunications systems and lightning protection and grounding to meet current criteria and operations requirements.
